The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) requires licensees to submit completed design assessment forms (DAFs) and associated radiation shielding calculations whenever any new construction or major renovation to a nuclear medicine facility occurs. These requirements are described in the PDF file.
Scientific staff at the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada include medical and health physicists with extensive experience in performing the radiation shielding calculations required. We are also willing and able to provide guidance with completion of the DAFs themselves.
