Canada Job Grant: How to Get up to 80% of Your Training Costs Funded

Did you know that there is up to $10,000 of financial support available to employers looking to train their staff?

In 2014 the Government of Canada launched the Canada Job Grant program to support national work force development. For all eligible applicants, the Government of Canada could provide up to two-thirds of the cost of training, to a maximum of $10,000 per grant – with some provinces offering up to $300,000 per employer per year.  In most cases, employers will be required to contribute the remaining one-third of the training costs, and large enterprises may need to contribute half of the training costs. Since its inception in 2014, this funding initiative has already helped thousands of business access additional resources to support third-party training of their employees.

Is it time you trained your staff?

The Canada Job Grant program is a joint federal-provincial initiative. Eligibility criteria, rules and submission deadlines may vary by province. Employers interested in applying for the funding should do so directly through their province or territory. Simply click on the appropriate link below to be directed to your provincial website:

Sean Reid, Vice President Federal and Ontario

Please note that the Institute does not have any affiliation with the Federal government or grant administrators and cannot guarantee that your application will be approved for funding.  We are, however, happy to share our experience to support your grant application process and assist you with a “trainer eligibility package” created to facilitate your submission. While grant applications are evaluated by Canada Job Grants on a case-by-case basis and are not assured, we are happy to say that many of our clients have been successful in securing Canada Job Grant funding for our Radiation Safety Course and X- Ray Safety Course offered by the Institute in the past.  In the provinces where submissions are paper based we recommend attaching our package to the application. Where applications are made online, the packages will serve as a reference point for quick information input.
