In Ontario, workplaces who use x-rays under 1 MeV for purposes other than for human health care must register their equipment with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development (MLITSD). The Radiation Safety Institute of Canada has developed three free resources to help support organizations in preparing their application:
- A guidance document;
- A training course video; and
- An eLearning course which includes speaker notes, a glossary based on Regulation 861, and links to the guidance document and video.

RSIC also has created free X-Ray Safety Templates for Regulation 861 to support the development of workplace radiation safety programs for analytic, cabinet, industrial radiography/fluoroscopic, and veterinary practice x-ray use in Ontario.
